ACTION PLAN: The meningitis awareness campaign has 4 main steps to get this disease across to the general public, and our target audience:
1) Spread Hand-sanitizer labels
2) Specialists visit colleges
3) Conduct a recognition add on TV shows
4) Televise an awareness campaign commercial
In order for the general public (adolescents, young adults, and parents) to be aware of meningitis, we need the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke to fund awareness of the disease. They can do this by spreading our hand-sanitizer labels across the U.S. by providing labels to every school district, so that the younger population will understand the importance of this disease. The label contains pictures of how the disease can effect an individual, and provide the general symptoms of meningitis. Once these labels get across to children and teens, it is important to have specialists visit colleges and provide a presentation that explains what meningitis is and how to prevent it. The specialists can then provide the hand-sanitizers to the students. Next, we need to have the disease televised across the U.S. by asking 60 minutes and CNN to explain the disease, the symptoms, and describe how to prevent it. The soul purpose of getting the disease televised, is for parents to recognize this disease. Once the general population is aware, it is important to have a role-model of the general public to spread more awareness. Kim Kardashian can be in our commercial that will be televised across the U.S. In order for the majority of the population to see this add, we will post it on youtube, and ask Kim Kardashian to post the awareness commercial on a social media app of her choice as well as linking our website on it.
